about 15 mins to produce using curvy's very powerful tools to make a low poly torso.

first see simon's torso tutorial using 4 curves and the mesh weld. (help page lathe tutorials )
then on the edit menu select mirror sculpt. (this will mirror what you sculpt on one side to the other.)
old advice but useful:-from then on use a temporary grid texture to see what you are doing and uv front/back every now and then.
sculpted using the inflate, deflate and pinch brushes.
