Sculpting a Multi-Eyed Daemon in Curvy 3D—Because One Set of Eyes Just Isn’t Enough

Post by Simon »

Ever feel like you need extra eyes to keep track of everything? Well, this daemon took that idea way too seriously. With more eyes than any reasonable creature should have, this sculpt in Curvy 3D was an absolute blast—equal parts terrifying and oddly charming.

Practicing sculpting eyes :::) Another concept by booqs. Sketched and rendered in Curvy.

The skirt and backplate were Curvy Mapped rather than sculpted.

Step 1: Sketching the Core Structure—Because Symmetry Is Overrated

Using Curvy’s sketch-based modeling, I quickly outlined the daemon’s stance, ensuring the proportions felt balanced yet unsettling. The soft move tools helped refine the flow of the limbs and armor, making sure the silhouette was both monstrous and majestic.

Step 2: Sculpting the Details—Eyes, Eyes, and More Eyes

Once the base was set, it was time to bring the daemon to life:
- The eyes? Everywhere. Because why settle for two when you can have a dozen glaring at you in judgment?
- The armor? Mysterious. A mix of Curvy Mapping and sculpted elements, ensuring the daemon looked like it stepped out of an ancient nightmare.
- The expression? Unreadable. Because when you have this many eyes, who needs eyebrows?

Using voxel merge, I refined the armor plating, ensuring it looked battle-worn yet supernatural. The warp brushes helped shape the eye sockets, making them feel like they were watching your every move.

Step 3: Painting & Texturing—Making It Look Extra Menacing

To make this daemon pop, I added:
- Deep, shadowy tones—because bright colors would make it way too friendly.
- Glowing accents—because nothing says “I see everything” like luminescent pupils.
- Subtle shading—to enhance the depth of the armor and eerie presence.

Final Touches & Rendering—A Creature That Sees All

Once the sculpt was complete, I posed the daemon in a commanding stance, ensuring it looked ready to judge, haunt, or just casually observe your life choices. The background was kept dark and atmospheric, allowing the many, many eyes to shine.

Conclusion—Why This Was So Much Fun

Sculpting this multi-eyed daemon in Curvy 3D was an absolute blast! The combination of sketch-based modeling, adaptive sculpting, and detailed texturing made the process fast, fun, and visually striking.
