some of mykyl's images.. not an ent... but a tree with a face..
an ent is it the tree that could talk?

What method are you using to make your tree?... or how realistic are you trying to get?

Use a 4 line lathe for the main body. Do not close the ends of the lines, in other words don't make them meet. Now manipulate those control lines until you get the shape you want.

In the Curvy Map block, open a nice bmp of some bark. Up the resolution until you get a nice rough surface. Then in the main color block load the same bitmap. You can add a face with white in the Curvy map block if you want.

Make your arms and legs and other branches with Line objects instead of lathes. To taper them, draw the line, then at one end crossways draw another line for your base width then at the other end a smaller line for your taper width. Apply the same bitmaps as you did the trunk.

For leaf mass, draw a lathe, then add the bark texture in the Curvy Map, up the res, and up the Curvy map slider. Color it green.
