Texture Scaling/Tiling

Post by Simon »

This one has been on the wishlist for a long time - tilable/scalable textures for use on all channels including displacement/curvy maps.

Before this you had to go into a 2D program and manually tile the source images...

UV tiling is now part of the Material, so you can setup tiling without needing to change the underlying UVs on the model.

This is great for quickly throwing on some stock textures to try out different looks - or to use simple tiled textures as sculpting elements through Curvy/Displacement maps.

I find myself reusing rough noise textures and striped textures a lot - now I can tweak their look much more easily in Curvy without needing to switch out to a paint program.

Here is another example of simple textures and simple primitives - when combined they can become much more complex. All of these shapes are still just sketched primitives - so you can continue tweaking the shapes and curves and they will update in realtime with their Curvy maps.
