some imported meshes seem to be in an "unwelded" state, then curvy map slider implodes /explodes them. I wish i could capture them with some quality to an avi because they are quite beautiful to watch in real time. 
p.s. sometimes when screen capturing i would like to get rid of the red selection cross without deselecting the object, is there a way to do that ?

I think the selection cross should be on a visibility toggle in the view options (but it might not be setup to do that yet)
