Ornamentation

Post by Simon »

I've been thinking about detailing armor. This is one way to create detailed patterns in Curvy.

Youtube Video Tutorial - Ornamentation

1) Create a Cube

2) Rotate the cube a quarter turn to make a diagonal shape with two sides slanting up to a peak in the middle.

3) Create a Brush Stroke from the cube shape using Mesh/Brush Strokes

4) Draw a sweeping shape with Add Curve

5) Tick the options for tapered ends

6) Increase the resolution in the Object Properties panel

7) Use Add Curve to create multiple strokes with the same brush.

8 ) Bake the curves with 'K' and join into one mesh with Ctrl+J

9) Draw a Loft object

10) Use Mesh/Deform/Fit to Surface to place the ornaments onto the Loft.
