Quick Tutorial: Joining Curvy Prims in Blender

Hello, The link below shows a sequential overview on what I am considering and how I approach joining curvy primitives in Blender. When building larger meshes from many primitives a major problem that needs to be overcome is what primitives are joined first for the best workflow and why? Well topolo...

Re: Quick Tips: My Curvy3D and Blender Workflow

UPDATE:

I've been Returning, Quad-Meshes from Blender to Curvy, and I find that masking selections of my mesh, turning off polish and subdivide, and using smooth, soft move, pinch and groove work very nicely. Ill put a picture up in the original link.

This is powerful.

Re: Quick Tips: My Curvy3D and Blender Workflow

I think you must have a better method than me! I often have 30+ models and I have to clear the material out of each before adding a new material. I know I can copy a material to all of the objects at once somehow, but I often don't want to totally lose my colours and textures from Curvy. I never tr...

Re: Quick Tips: My Curvy3D and Blender Workflow

Thanks for the workflow :) I'll get you liking Slabs - much better control of vertex spacing round a slab in 5 to avoid verts too close together. Also you can make a totally flat (1 triangle thick) slab, increase the resolution + relax to make an even mesh, then thicken or extrude. Sorting out expo...

Quick Tutorial: The N-Line Lathe!

Hello Friends, I want to show you a cool feature that is very easy to use since Curvy 3D 4.0 and the introduction of new curve tools. The many lined, or "N-Line Lathe" (no we aren't talking about rollerblading). The benefits of using this technique are clean edge lines, more control over shapes so y...

Thank you for the kind compliment. It is an honor.

Re: Robot Concept WIP - ME

Sculptor,

For sure I will make a quick tutorial. I did a new mech head which is in the link above. I think I will go through that. It is mostly a series of lathes, lofts, and gradient masks that are transformed. its crazy easy.

Re: Robot Concept WIP - ME

This is still pretty early on in the modeling stage but I'm excited for the outcome because of how Easy it was to do so far. Curvy seems to me ideal to do anime style mechs. Every line in the picture below is slightly curved because It is hand drawn. There are virtually no cuts in the Gundam, just s...
