Aha, you could use a image that never actually goes to black, then use an alpha in the texture map to cut-out the edges (Like I did in the football helmet example)

Looks like the disintegration scenes in Lawnmower Man :) I am trying to guess how you made this!

Beautiful materials, the mossy sheen looks great on those bodies.

Mr.Nemo I'm not quite sure what you mean - 100% black parts of the inflated image get 'cut out' in the same way that an alpha might cut them out. If it would be useful to have alpha used during inflate I could look into supporting TGA with alpha as an inflate format.

Oooh this is lovely! The pinched lines help control the width of the extruded areas nicely and the overall effect is a novel modelling style.

I enjoyed the freeform reshaping of the model - and the peek inside your textures folder :) Nice tut.

Hi mudiras, the Curvy2 beta is available to paying Curvy1.5 customers (and beta users will get a free upgrade to 2.0 when it is finished) You can buy Curvy1.5 here , then send me a message so I can add you to the beta group. If you want to try before you buy there will be a demo of 2.0 after launch ...

hehe very Dali

Just having 'sheet-like' panels could be very handy for making clothes for character models, and the 'cut out' bits could be frayed ends of a tattered cloak. Will have to try this out.

Very pretty :)

I had never considered Curvy for architecture before - but the inflate will certainly help block out shapes so you have shown :D

I would do this with a smoothed base mesh - and a curvy map with clean gradients (sketched out for layout in curvy, but recreated with vector art in a normal paint prog)

This is fabulous - just like roughing out a sculpture with hunks of clay and then detailing over the top - most apps make the rough far more complex than it needs to be ;)

That is a single black and white image - using "Image Inflate" with the check box for smooth curved surface set - so it inflates the white parts like a bubble.
