Hi Morxun, there are quite a few new features since then. The current Beta build is Curvy 3D 5.2.21b

Notes on what features have been added are in the Beta Releases forum (You are part of the Beta group and should have access)

The key trick to this method is to make a single ' link ' in the knit pattern in Depth and Normal maps. I drew a single link as a Lathe object, then mirror pasted it to make a symmetrical copy. Then I used Proxy Array with Offset A, Offset B, and Alternate to make staggered copies to compete the 3D ...
