Re: Alien Mount

That's really cool Simon. I need to dl my 3.0 copy and try making sculpts now that I've sculpted in Blender and Zbrush( a little).

Re: Fun

Wowza those are some really nifty models! I like your art style; clean intersections and well defined shapes.

Re: Cubify Sense 3D Scanner

I have finally got the Cubify Sense Scanner. Man on man is this thing fun. It scans to scale, which surprised me. Here's a picture of the scanner with our first scanned and printed object. The skull took about 3 hours to print. Also worth noting, although the specs are pretty high, I tried on a dual...

Re: Blue Glass Chess Pieces

Pretty neat! Interesting cycles material. Is this a draft render? Also, what's your render settings if you don't mind? Your samples seem to be on the low end, unless it's a draft, then they're right on par :)

Re: Shelling for 3D Printing

And now that Graphene is making it's way into the spotlight, we may see graphene 3d printers soon... and the whole world changes.

Blender now has native 3d Printing support, which I use. I have a mini factory in my living room right now. :) 2 printers. I've gotten to use lots of brilliant filaments. Some good, some excellent, and some... just garbage. Nonetheless, it's been super fun 3d printing!

Yeah, I'm super stoked to get it. It actually shipped today instead of the 14th. Oh well, it'll be here soon. I agree Simon, there aren't many good pictures or videos. The few videos I've seen show it being demonstrated but not put through a whole scan process. It was a bit of a low resolution quick...

I'm pretty sure I hijacked your thread Simon. My apologies. I don't know if this link will work, but here's a dual print I did for a local client. https://plus.google.com/photos?pid=5955310857611547330&oid=104324605739370340394 If that doesn't work, this may: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Hct2F...

I'm there with ya. I'm hopefully getting some form of 3d scanner in the near future. Either with the iPad or purchasing possibly a kickstarter one. I just recently got a second 3d printer. It's called FlashForge Creator. It's a Replicator 2 clone from China. Very good quality. It's dual head so I ca...

So did you contact them or did they contact you to use their software for show? That's pretty cool. I saw where Curvy is mentioned with 2 pics of scans. Impressive!

That looks pretty neat. I'll have to keep an eye on it as it develops. I'm currently looking to get an iPad Mini for Autodesk Sculpt http://www.123dapp.com/sculpt and http://www.wired.com/design/2013/09/structure-3-d-scanner-for-your-ipad/ The iPad just has more going for it for 3d scanning and spee...

It's not to bad. I may use it as well when I get some more models for printing ready. Nice clean render, easy controls. What's not to like? There's a special going on now, $69 for 2 years with 200mb file size upload limit. Daaang!

MaCrea

I found this little tool online called MaCrea that a user by the name of Taron created for ZBrush. However, it can be used for Curvy's material maps. Take a look at it and experiment. You can get some pretty sweet looking effects with this little app! http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?9215...
