Re: Curvy3D in VR?
A lot has changed in the last two years with VR. But, to each their own.

Curvy3D in VR?
Hi Simon,
Have you ever thought about making a Curvy3D version for VR? I think certain aspects of how Curvy works would be fantastic in VR, particularly how you "sketch" curves to create solids.

3DConnexion SpaceMouse Support?
Hi Simon,
I think it would be great if Curvy3D had support for 3DConnexion's SpaceMouse:
https://3dconnexion.com/be/
While this 3D mouse used to be mainly a CAD only tool, it's being used a bit more for 3D modeling (in general), but especially for 3D sculpting (Blender and ZBrush).

Re: Improved Primitives
Cylinders with quads on the cap ends are important as, in some circumstances, they can create rendering errors without them.

Re: 4.0 UI
I would use the KISS method on this one ... Keep It Simple, Stupid. A color picker has no need to be over complicated and painting with a right-mouse button on a stylus is no fun. Instead, just make the color picker similar to what you see in Photoshop and other paint apps. There is a foreground and...

Re: My proposals for Curvy 3D 4.0
Detailing brush Well, a reduction brush also needs a detailing brush. This is only meant to introduce extra geometry into objects. I'm not sure about the detailing brush idea. I think that Curvy could handle adding details to an area in a similar way that Sculptris does, but adding details automati...

Re: My proposals for Curvy 3D 4.0
Disc and face primitives Well, maybe you also want to introduce some "flat" shapes, like discs and 4-sided faces? I don't see a need for this ... and there is a reason that most 3D programs don't offer this. A disc is really just a cylinder that is flattened or has had the sides and one cap cut off...

Re: 4.0 UI
I personally like the monotone icons like you see in Photoshop. Modo's icons, while not being monotone, are pretty nice, too, because they use a fairly restricted color palette which, I think, works well with their dark-grey background. It's all a preference, though, and others have their own. So, o...

Re: 4.0 UI
Briefly looking at the UI, I would recommend that you look at the Toolbox panel and reconsider how to condense this. For example, you have sections there labeled as Objects, Curve, Sculpt, Mask and Paint. And there is that section up at the top with the select, move, etc., icons. All these could be ...

Re: Suggestions for Curvy 4
Looking at Photoshop I struggled to find any sliders! Photoshop has sliders all over the place. Brush size, brush opacity, brush hardness, layer opacity, etc., all have sliders. If you go into things like setting blur, sharpness, etc., there are sliders. It's just that the sliders are hidden. Next ...

Re: 4.0 UI
Some people like menus ... some don't. That's why programs like Photoshop have the TAB key hide/unhide the menus. It makes it easy to switch back and forth.

Re: Wow! 4.0 seems awesome...
Lines with custom profile shapes works now. I need to do a fair bit of UI work to make it easy to use (And avoid the confusion of Lofts). In fact this might end up improving and simplifying the Lofts too. If things are similar (i.e. like profile shapes, lofts, whatever), then perhaps having one ico...

Re: Wow! 4.0 seems awesome...
MODO does the same thing. Why implement all the bezier abilities when you can simply import proper curves from another app? So, MODO imports .ai.
The reason I suggested .ai is because it is the standard due to the long-standing popularity of Illustrator.

Re: Wow! 4.0 seems awesome...
To extend Curvy and allow Curvy to use complex profiles, you could allow Curvy to import .AI files. MODO does this and this allows the end-user to create complex shapes in programs like Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer, etc., and bring those shapes into MODO to extrude, lathe, etc. This way ...
