45-90 degree turns are very useful! An in-view tool for this would be cool - and it wouldn't need to be big on screen to be very useful from time to time.

I'm not sure what you mean by easier naming, or naming multiple things. Do you mean you want to name items in the groups list rather than the properties panel... I can imagine multiple selections being named with "Name1" "Name2" etc when you enter "Name", if that is useful. (I tend to group objects and name the group rather than the individuals).
hey simon,

i was doing some more work today on a figure and i was using lines again and i still kind of would like that gui lock tool for lines. i was using it to make hair on a figure.

a quicker naming process is useful for exporting objs and just keeping organized in general while not interrupting my workflow. I don't know if this would help others.

so there are a few things that I would love to see

1) I would love to be able to just save the UV MAP unwrapped as an image file to edit on other software. I have been taking screenshots and editing from there in order to achieve that effect and it feels like it could be automated.

2) I would love the primitives you already have to have more polys as already suggested and with better unwrap uvs. For instance in Autocad, modtools in my case, they have the spheric objects uv split down the equator to more easily have seamless sphere textures.

3) would there be a anyway to set the shadow direction from the built in lights.

4) A tool that allows me to slice an obj. Something like the current mesh selector tools but it draws a single line and divides the mesh accordingly.

5) I would like a load background to all perspectives option as well

thanks again simon for being so receptive.

Good ideas. I do (1) by hand a lot, would be handy to automate it. (Assuming you mean render the wireframe of the object's UVs into an image)

The others are fairly straight forward - all apart from 'slice' which I agree would be handy to have, but is much harder to code. I'll have to do some research!

i don't know if this will help. In regards to renaming wish I had earlier.

If i could select a objects, in order by created group, say line, line, line and i could rename all of them in the obj properties menu where you can name them normally, to leg1, leg2, leg3

then it is useful for not only organizing but spacial awareness because according to my group heiarchy, leg1 is the highest on the y axis, leg2 is second highest, leg3 is bottom.

I don't know how helpful this is for more people but I'm using curvy a lot because blender is so slow for me cause my bum gpu and i'm trying to achieve some professional goals. To that end curvy is serving as an animation platform along with pd howler. Curvy runs so well for me and for that I thank you.

I like the multiple rename idea - even if it is more of a power-user thing I can see myself using it all the time!
