how to import bitmaps [jpg's etc.]?

Post by marni »

I just d/l'ed the demo and have been trying to figure out how to load bitmaps, as my core reason for interest in C3D is importing 3D models and applying my .jpg's to their surfaces. My apologies if it's obvious but how does one texture map ones bitmaps onto 3D models in C3D? [I've tried Open and Import: neither result in opened images.]
Thanking you in advance for your help...

(Continued from our email discussion in case others have same issue)

Bitmaps/JPGs have to be loaded onto a model, you can't load an image on its own. So draw or load a model, select it in the scene and then you can right click in the object properties panel on the little coloured squares for each different image type - this should pop up the loading window.

Once loaded onto any model, the image is available to be used on other models in the scene by holding down the left mouse button on those same coloured squares.
