The file without an extension "name" instead of "name.BMP" is not part of the sculptmap, you can ignore it.

The BMP file is all you need to upload to second life as a sculpt map. When you save sculpt maps Curvy will save a BMP for each object you have made.

If you use simple lathes, and avoid using "merge" the sculpt maps Curvy saves should be full of colour. If you use merge or other mesh commands the sculptmaps will have a thick black border and will not work well in SL.

When you have the sculptmap, you can upload it to SL. You might need to "Flip Normals" to make it appear inside out.

The Car Seat Video shows this process in action. Set the time to 4:00 to skip the modelling and go straight to exporting as a sculpt map.

thank you for your answer , i have been playing long , using all the options , and yes , i saw that when i just do one item without marging , it is ok , and when its with add and marg all i get that map with the black borders
so i belive i only can make a simple sculpts or,, use few mapos for one sculpt :(
i didnt know that befor buying , cos the demo didnt have the sculpt option :)
is it you that makes the items to sl? (arch curtains)

maby time to think haw to fix that , to allow also users of sl to enjoy this beutifull program :) that can make us creators , artist to make amazing stuff

I made the arch and the curtains, and more complex items like heads and dragons too. Complicated shapes need to be split into simpler parts.

The Roman soldier in this thread was made by someone else in Curvy, it is quite detailed for sculpties
