New to Curvy - Tips ?

Postby LadySakai » Fri Nov 19, 2010 5:09 pm

I just got the demo working thanks to Simon for helping out since my OS is Windows7 and apparently was missing some files for it to work :) Your a prince Simon :)

Now for the question.

Ive been looking over the tutorials a bit and I wondered how to make mountains ? How would be the best way to go about it ?

Thanks in advance :)

A mountain is basically a cone shape - roughed up. I made this one by drawing a lathe, with one line running top to bottom down each side of the mountain. This makes a cone shape.

Then I painted on the curvy map, and used the mesh distortion paintbrushes to rough up the surface. You could also apply colour and bump maps copied from real photos.

The other way I've done mountains is to draw a loft and then paint directly onto the Curvy map (if painting doesn't work, try painting the other side of the loft). I used that method to make this.
