Texture / Bump Painting Question

Hi, guys...haven't had much time over the past few weeks to do much artwork of any kind but have a question concerning texture painting in Curvy.

When going to paint the bump and loading the texture for the bump, Curvy automatically applies the entire texture to everything.

Is there some way to set up paint preferences so that it does not do this and I can just projection-paint the bump where I want it?

maybe a few ideas till someone comes up with a better answer :)

what if you keep some objects separate so they can have different textures.
or
what if you exported the model and used something like uvmapper to remap.
or
use curvy to mark with a few paint blobs on the model/texture to show where you want things then use a paint program to change the texture as you wish

This method would be my best guess too.

The feature you describe would certainly be very fun to use during full 3D painting in Curvy and a few similar ideas have gone on the wish-list for the next beta.

Thanks guys. Now that I'm working again, I've been pretty useless with my art programs. Got a bit lost and confused with the current beta testing going on for the latest Dogwaffle plugins.

Have a project started in Curvy two weeks ago that I have yet to get back to.

Definitely will look forward to an update with a feature like this, if possible. I really feel that even if people can't get the hang of actually modeling with Curvy it still could serve as a very good model painting app. :D

it might be worth mentioning how precise you can be using the uvmapper method.

export the model from curvy.
remap in uvmapper(i usually use planar)
save the model and the texture from uvmapper.
paint on the texture bmp.
import model back into curvy.
use new texture in curvy.

here it is with same texture on bump map
note object only has 60 triangles :)
