In the middle of each selected Lathe is a dark blue centre line running along the lathe's curvy axis. In the next beta it will be turned off by default (with an option to show it). This gives a better view of your model and a cleaner look overall.

Does anyone use it for anything useful?

I use it only to gauge what I want to select if I have multiple objects in the scene. It would be nice to have a toggle button. I also use it to select my object.

so toggle would be good idea
