Making Sculpites In Curvy 3D for Second Life
Posted: Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:38 am
You can easily make Sculpties in Curvy - in fact Curvy modelling is so similar to Sculptie modelling that you can just draw a line and export the result immediately without having to touch UVs or export settings or plugins!
When I try to export the file, the only available options I see are obj. 3DS and DirectX. Of course these don't work in Second Life as a sculpty unless converted to a suitable format. If I don't need a plugin or other settings, what am I missing?

the latest beta has sculptie mode under the edit menu
only when this is enabled does the sculptie save format become available

Welcome to Curvy Demona, I hope you will have lots of fun with the Sculpties - just remember to turn on Sculptie mode in the edit menu of the 2.0 Beta.
I have sent you the Beta - I think my initial Beta invite in response to the Curvy 1.5 sale got lost in gmail somewhere.

I received the beta version and I have to say I'm very excited about the results sofar!
This seems a lot easier for me than other programs I've used over the last two years.
Here is a snapshot taken from SecondLife of my first object. Just a rough test of course.

That is a pretty flower, plenty of detail for a sculptie too - I am happy how fast SL users learn Curvy, I think it uses a similar way of thinking about a sculpt

I'm excited to find this program and this site. I've been wanting to get into sculpties for awhile now but found other program learning curves daunting.
I'm just now practicing on the demo version. Finding the forum and some folks from Second Life here has given me inspiration.

You can see lots more sculpties made with Curvy at the Lost Boys Sculptie shop in Second Life
