Octopus (sort of...)

These are my first models in Curvy 3D, kind of octopus type creatures, then exported and rendered in Carrara.

Hi Phil,
I spotted these a few days ago on Renderosity - thanks for posting them here too! You've made some lovely organics there - I like the flat arms with suckers the best ( while trying to guess how to make them ;) )

Thanks for your comment! Each of the flat arms is a loft with a profile that "almost" loops around on itself. Made it once and then copied so that there are eight arms. The body is a simple lathe. The first octopus I did had lines for arms that were a bit plain so I wanted to develop them a bit, hence the second model. After that, it was converted to a mesh and detailed with suckers using the Curvy map.

Having fun exploring it all but I'm sure there's a lot that I need to learn yet...
