This looks like the cover of a "invasion of the ..." sci-fi novel. I love the spiky legs and head design.

yep there's a texture change during the animation.
its interesting that the shiny surface works well when seen in 3d but
doesn't seem to work so well in a rendered still
which is why i used the darker surface for the still.
