Virtual Sculpture St Paul's Bay

Post by sculptor »

Image

made in curvy(10 min)
bryce render(30 min)

This was an exercise to test making visualizations for commissions.
I found i could really speed up renders by getting rid of ground planes etc
and i could then use lots of lights.

i'm still at 5.5 :(
but it was free :) (on a bona fide legal offer i might add)

in this render i was aiming for realism (i don't know whether i succeeded )
i am not sure about the hdr in later bryce do you think hdr looks more or less realistic ?

I love it - the lighting fits really well into the photo.

Reminds me of Henry Moore - he would have loved Curvy

I think you can get 6 and 6.3 for free now - also 7 beta .
never liked hdr myself - couldn't see what it does to most renders .

I would use HDR if I was going to apply a flare/blur to highlights and bright lights in the scene. For darker renders it should not make a difference.
