I still have trouble making shapes with Curvy3D, but I made these with a program called Archipelis then imported them into Curvy to give them dimension and touch up the paint. They only took a few minutes to make I spent more time in Curvy doing the finessing.

you would flatten a lathe object by drawing another curve at right angles(front and side view) to it.
flatten an individual curve with the ruler tool or widgit move.
flatten a mesh by scale tool while pressing x y or z key.
or by using warp flatten tool.
and there are other ways.
curvy will do a very similar job to Archipelis if you experiment with the
model - inflate image settings.
