Curvy's best kept secret ?
Curvy's best kept secret ?
Above construction made with ONE loft copied 3 times.
Curvy has a slightly non intuitive system for loft drawing and at first use it appears only capable of drawing flat planes or buckled sheets.
Here's the secret -
don't try to draw it in one go.
for example after drawing the first line vertically in front view
draw the top and bottom lines as simple u shapes in front view.
rotate these lines in side view by 90 degrees.
You can now redraw these lines or reshape them with the widgit tools.(nearly closed circles to form clothes maybe ?)
(if you get an unwanted x type crossover you may need to rotate ONE of these lines 180 degrees in front view.)
Now the tool has become REALLY powerful.
notes
you only need to do the above once and save it because once you have a working loft it can be copied and reshaped.
As usual with curvy there are other ways of creating this type of loft but i have to choose one description and this one has a certain logic to it.
The draw details tool does not work as you might expect on these lofts.
here is a working (curvy 1.5) example i suggest increasing its resolution then playing with the widgit move tool with different shape and scale settings
