Hard Surface Modeling

Post by Vanrailey »

I have been trying to do some practice with hard surface modeling in curvy, but I've been kinda unsuccessful in doing so. Although, I've seen various models in the gallery of others archiving this. So I was wondering could someone help me with some tips and methods.

I would do this with a smoothed base mesh - and a curvy map with clean gradients (sketched out for layout in curvy, but recreated with vector art in a normal paint prog)

If you look down the list here on this page, you'll see a tutorial called 'CurvyTech'. That's how I do it. I make all my black/white/grayscale maps first. I use a tool called Texturemaker but any tool that can make basic vector type shapes will work.
